Beacon

Beacon (formerly known as Findacure)is a UK charity that helps patients with rare and neglected diseases connect with academic researchers to translate early-stage science into potential treatments. Its Drug Repurposing programme identifies licensed medicines with potential to treat rare diseases and funds feasibility studies an approach that bypasses years of early drug development at a fraction of the cost. Based at the Wellcome Genome Campus in Cambridge, Findacure also runs educational workshops on patient advocacy in research, runs an annual conference, and has helped over 50 rare disease communities develop their research strategies.
